Desiree Jennings was physically healthy and in good shape and a Washington Redskins Cheerleader Ambassador when she received a flu shot on August 23, 2009. After the shot, she developed flu-like symptoms and on September 7, 2009 she started having fainting spells and convulsions. She was sent to a couple of different hospitals. The prestigious Johns Hopkins hospital gave her a diagnosis of Dystonia, a rare neurological condition. Her story unfolded in the media and videos of her story went viral on the internet, which gained the attention of Jenny McCarthy with Generation Rescue who sent her to see Dr. Buttar in November of 2009.
